Flinders Island

Killiecrankie Bay, North Flinders Island

Flinders Island is about 70 x 30 kilometres, is surrounded by 52 other islands, and has some spectacular scenery with Strzelecki Mountain to climb over 2,500 feet high near the southern end. It takes an hour to drive from the north to the south end amongst wonderful vista's.

As one of the first areas settled in Australia, Flinders Island has generated plenty of history.

One thing is for certain, the feel of peace and tranquillity on Flinders Island is difficult to describe. It can only truly be appreciated by experiencing the beauty of nature and the rugged outcrops of headlands as you drive or walk round. You will go away feeling like you have come to somewhere special in the world.

Try something different, and somewhere where you don’t have to join queues, no security issues here (compulsory to wave to the locals as you drive around), nor any stresses of modern travel to holiday destinations. You often get to see spectacular scenery as you fly into Flinders Island.
